Madelyne and Jeff have a true and incredible love story. They were high school sweethearts, but went their own ways for years. Then one day, on Madelyne’s birthday, Jeff sent her a Facebook message which went something like this: “I have never forgotten you and will never meet anyone like you. We are meant to be together.” Well that message reunited them and a few days ago I had the incredible honor of photographing their destination Mexico wedding on Isla Mujeres.

They were married at Casa Ixchel, a boutique hotel on Isla Mujeres with an incredible energy and a wonderful venue for marrying the love of your life! Casa Ixchel is an island sanctuary where time is yours…A space to relax and recharge mind, body and soul. It has a magical healing energy with breathtaking ocean views. Ample deck space and large palapas are available for reading, relaxing, yoga and just slowing down and relaxing. The hotel features eight incredible and relaxing suites, each with a theme such as Serenity and Abundance. Combine this with a fabulous meal on the rooftop at De Luisa and you will think you’ve been transported to paradise!

Sabina Tamm of Sundreamers Weddings officiated Madelyne and Jeff’s ceremony. Sabina is an incredible woman who’s energy is both calming and uniquely special. She performed the water ceremony which symbolizes a fresh life together, a ceremony that has used the salt water of the ocean for centuries to purify and cleanse. The ocean water is poured over the couple’s palms before they exchange the vows and the rings. Their ceremony also included the flower offering to the ocean. To honor the past, to give thanks for the present and to invoke love, happiness and abundance for the future, the bride and groom are joined by their guests to toss flowers into the ocean.

Madelyne and Jeff choose to share their vows on the day the moon was full…and oh what a moon they had!!! I wish you both all the happiness in the world!!
