Marriage Proposal and Engagement on Isla Mujeres | Robert + Angela

Robert contacted me a week or so ago sharing he wanted to propose to his girlfriend when they were vacationing on Isla Mujeres. They had met in high school and dated a bit then, but went their separate ways after that for a number of years. They met up again many years later and this time, they knew it would last! Now, five years later, Robert knew it was time and he was so ready to call Angela his wife!

Robert looked through my website at all the past marriage proposals I have photographed over the years to find the perfect setting for his proposal. He chose the Cliff of Dawn, where the sun first touches Mexico each morning. Yesterday, later in the afternoon, they made their way out to Punta Sur and down to the spot Robert choose and I was ready to capture the excitement!

Robert’s timing getting down on one knee was amazing! Just as he did and Angela realized what was happening, this huge wave hit the rocks behind him sending spray into the air! It was magical! I was so excited for them! From the upper level, they had some onlookers who were cheering when they watched him put the ring on Angela’s finger.

After the initial excitement of the proposal, I went up and introduced myself to Angela who had no idea her proposal was being photographed. She was so, SO happy! I love that I was the first person to officially congratulate them on their next adventure together! I explained to Angela that not only did I capture the proposal, but now we were going to take their engagement photos. We walked around the cliffs taking photos and chatting about the excitement of the moment.

After our session, I gave them a ride in my golf cart to Rose Sirena’s Restaurant for a romantic dinner.

I’m so incredibly happy for this wonderful couple and was honored that I was able to photograph their marriage proposal and engagement session on Isla Mujeres!
