Sunset Grill Wedding | Isla Mujeres | Deb + Tom

After photographing over 200 weddings, I still tear up at true love…true emotion…and the wedding of Deb and Tom had both! This couple is amazing and so incredibly in love! Their wedding day started out a bit wet with rain spilling from the dark blue ominous clouds that hung low over Isla Mujeres. The plan was for an Isla Photo Tour before their ceremony at Sunset Grill, but the weather postponed that…but only for one hour! The rain changed to a drizzle and Deb and Tom decided that they still wanted to head out and take fun photos in Centro with the colorful and historic fishing boats and houses. So we went! They had their ‘first look’ at Ixchel Beach Hotel, where Deb got ready, and then we jumped in a taxi for some island photos. With help from my assistant and three umbrellas, we ended up having a blast despite the weather!

About 15 minutes before the ceremony was to start, the rain stopped and the sky cleared. The sun even came out! Their ceremony at Sunset Grill took place on the beach with the crashing waves of the Caribbean ocean behind them. Their beautiful and sweet ceremony was followed by one of the best sunset’s I’ve ever seen. It actually looked like a mountain range (Rocky Mountains??)! Just magnificant!!! Then the reception events…at which I cried again! The toasts were so moving and loving, but when the groom played and sang a song for his new bride I just about couldn’t see through the view finder because my eyes were watering so much! Their first dance was to a song Tom wrote and recorded…a special love song! Our happy couple was then joined by family and friends for lots of dancing! It was a magical night under the stars! Thank you Deb and Tom, for the incredible honor of being your wedding photographer!!
